VEDIC MICROBIOLOGY, JAINISM AND VEDIC SCIENCES

 

Paper highlights:
1.  Strongly stated that Microbiology as a science originated in Vedic times (even before Modern microbiology evolved).
2. Outlined the philosophy behind evolution of Vedic Sciences & Vedic Microbiology.
3. Historical Chronology of Evolution of Vedic Microbiology based on Vedas, Puranas, Ayurveda and other Sanskrit texts
4. Presented a unique interpretation on Jain classification for living beings (microbes) – Philosophical relevance of “baddha (bound)” and “mukta” forms.
5. Presented the difference between Vedic Microbiology and Modern Microbiology w.r.t. instruments, technique, philosophy etc.
6.  Bioethics in Vedic Microbiology

 

HISTORICAL STATEMENTS [JANUARY 2004] UTTERED IN THE CONFERENCE:


i.    Louis Pasture is NOT the father of microbiology. Rishis Kanva ऋषि  कण्व   & their Descendents काण्व are ''प्रथम गुरु Pioneer Gurus'' of Microbiology.
ii.  Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek was NOT the first person to observe microorganisms, instead Vedic Rishis / Ayurvedacharyas were first Person to observe the existence of various kinds of Krimis कृमि in Nature.
iii.  Microbiology was originated in Bharat/India, When Vedic Rishis saw the "Krimi" कृमि i.e. Microorganisms and wrote several Suktas (Richas/Mantras) in Rigveda, Atharvaveda and Yajurveda.
